small logoWelcome to Akar Zer Tri – Ngak and Lha Bön

We are a 501(c)3 Religious and Cultural Preservation organization that focuses on keeping the ancient wisdom of Zhang Zhung and its people alive and available to the world of modern humans. To accomplish this, we have a number of projects in both the religious/spiritual side of Bön and the cultural side. Just click the information below to be taken to more information.

Basically the Lhakang we want to build
Our Lhakang Project
The best way to preserve a culture is by having a cultural center. Our Lhakang project is designed to accomplish this. At the heart of the center is the Temple with its shrine room, rooms for visitor activities, Monk and Nun quarters and festival courtyard. Additional structures include training facilities, workshop areas for ancient crafts and traditional living projects. We even have an herbal pharmacy! Food is provided via several bio-domes with vertical growing towers and hydroponics/aeroponics growing systems.

We also will have retreat facilities for both short term and long term student retreats.
About Our Journey

Dorje Phem teaching
Bön Teachings & Empowerments
Throughout the year we offer teachings and empowerments. most of these are single or two day events, some are longer (7 days to 45 days), depending on the empowerment and the complexity of its teachings. Some include hands on workshops like mala making or casting and activating your own phurba. Some are simple teachings where you take notes, learn mantras or other common Bön things. Some make traditional jewelry, traditional fabric craft, some use string, some are carving or statue making. We have a wide range of things to teach and do in our center.

Sangha
The Sangha
(family of students)
We have three precious elements to Bön. The first is a qualified and enlightened teacher.
The second is unbroken lineage teachings.
The third is a family of practitioners that are all working to achieve the highest level of enlightenment they can in this lifetime.

They practice together, share meals, attend festivals, engage in traditional crafts and culture and generally learn the Bön way of living. Then they can easily take that back into the world of chaos and the non-spiritual. Affectionately named “Muggle Land”.
